Rachael Stedman is a portrait and landscape artist living and working from her Sussex studio in the South Downs near Lewes.
In 1988 after graduating from an Illustration degree at Brighton Art College, Rachael moved to London to work as a background artist for Universal films. This in turn led to a long and exciting career in animation working as a background and development artist on feature films, children Telly and TV adverts.
After a career break to bring up her family she is now dedicating her time developing her own distinctive style of landscapes as well as her passion for portraiture.
In the last year Rachael has exhibited at the Mall Galleries (Royal Society of Portrait Painters 2024 show), Petersfield Museum and Art Gallery, Guildford House Art Gallery, Atelier Art Gallery, and Brighton Art Fair. She was a wildcard winner for Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2023, episode 6, as well as a contestant for 2024 portrait Artist of the Year.
